Is it a word?

Strings of letters will appear one at a time. For each one, decide as quickly as you can whether it is a real English word.

  1. Press one key if it is a real English word and another if it is not. Be fast, but try not to make mistakes.
  2. As before: 8 practice trials with feedback, then 80 trials with a short break halfway.
Which Chinese characters do you read most easily?
Which hand do you write with?

Your answers are stored anonymously under a random code, with no name and no student number. They are pooled with the rest of the class so that we can discuss the results together.
